Vegetable tanning is 100% ecological. It is an ancient technique that dates back to the medieval period and developed in Tuscany in the lands located along the Arnò river. The skin is placed into the barrels with water containing tannins (natural dyes, coming from plants and tree bark). To obtain greater elasticity, the barrels are in continuous rotation and movement.
