Natural tanning is an ancient technique that dates back to two thousand years ago and developed in the lands of medieval Tuscany along the Arnò river. The leather is placed in the barrels with water containing natural dyes, coming from plants and tree bark. To achieve the soft and flexible leather effect, the barrels remain in rotation and flapping motion for approximately 48 hours.
The surface of vegetable tanned leather presents irregularities and roughness, has different tones. This is not a defect, but the characteristic of real leather, tanned according to Tuscan traditions.
