Pratesi Firenze - is a family artisanal factory, which began its history in 1948, when the grandfather of the owners, Egidio moved to Rome and began working in the world of cinema, creating accessories for costumes. One of his most famous commitments was the creation of the leather armor of the gladiators for the famous film "Quo Vadis", directed by Mervyn LeRoy, set in ancient Rome during the time of Emperor Nero.

This great success of work allowed the young craftsman to found a small leather goods company, where he could express his art. In the 60s Egidio Pratesi returned to his father's lands, in Tuscany and moved the company nearby from the area of ​​the tanneries of Santa Croce, the place well known in the world for the production of vegetable tanned leather.

The "Pratesi Firenze" factory of handcrafted leather bags and accessories has passed for three generations, and today Egidio's grandchildren continue the family tradition, creating handbags according to ancient techniques, with their own distinctive style and design. Many items are produced in Tuscan vegetable tanned leather, crafted with attention to detail, art and creativity.
